New Comege factory
Our new 11 000 m2, industrial building, operational since December 2019, required an investment of € 5 905 700, including a € 1 130 000 grant from the European Union's European Regional Development Fund (FEDER).
Our calling : designing and producing a wide range of lifting equipment on demand
Located in France, in the heart of Burgundy, 100 km from Lyon, COMEGE is a family business. It has a team of 57 people led by Thibaut Egeley, its president.
The research department and factory floor inhabit the same plant, and this proximity has proven to be our major advantage. Close collaboration with the shop throughout the manufacturing process has allowed our research department to make the most of its expertise. In addition, the research department serves as a trustworthy and reliable point of contact for our trading partners.
Each project we take on gains by our company's energy and responsiveness.
COMEGE was founded in 1984. From its inception, it has been active in all areas of sheet-metal working. The year 1992 was a significant one for us: our product range expanded to include gantry cranes, jib cranes and spreader beams. From that point on, COMEGE has relied on steady development, which allows it a strong position in exclusive partnerships with the biggest retailers. The strict application of this business principle, combined with its recognized know-how, have helped its reputation spread across Europe. Specializing in custom-made production, our company has gradually earned its place as a leader.
Our entire production is subject to a traceability process. Each item is thus "marked" from the first steps in its production. For example, a jib crane takes shape in five phases. As soon as a column is received, it is cut and is immediately given an identification plate. The base plate is then welded onto the column. This preliminary structure is delivered to a workshop technician, who develops and assembles the other elements making up the jib crane. Once assembled, it is taken to the paint booth, then prepared for shipping.
To react to each order as quickly as possible, we stock our most frequently used parts onsite. At the present time, 75 % of our production comes from our catalog and 25 % is custom-made equipment. All of our production is intended for resale, and we remain committed to this business principle.
